The metallization of aluminum oxide ceramics (min. 94.4% alumina) was performed by molybdenum-manganese process in hydrogen and nitrogen reduced atmosphere under 1250℃ ~1450℃ cured. After the sintering, the metallic coating will adhering on the ceramic base body, the typical metallized layers consist of tungsten as well besides Mo/Mn. In order to enhance the wettability at brazing process, a metallic coating is needed following by metallisation layer, like nickle, gold plating.
Metallized ceramics can help to achieve ceramic to metal, ceramic to ceramic joining application in electronic, electrical, high-vacuum technology.
