Nowadays, the seal discs in catridge for sanitory fittings are normally made from engineered Alumina Ceramic, mainly including 96% alumina, 99% alumina.

Alumina is one of most cost-effective advanced ceramic than the others. In the meantime, it offers unmatchable wear resistance, chemical stability, anti-aging, high-temperature resistance, self-lubrication properties than traditional plastic, metal sealing components.  It has proven that Alumina Ceramic Seal Disc extend the working lifetime and reduce the maintain times due to these outstanding advantages. Even if, after 500,000 cycles of use with ceramic seal disc, there is no measurable wear when used on all kinds of faucet cartridge, tap cartridge, water mixers, shower regulator with turning mechanisms.
